Kashvi Disha

Vocational and Livelihood

The Kashvi Disha Programme

Kashvi Disha is the vocational and livelihood arm of this programme, translating education into tangible income-generation and employment outcomes. Kashvi Disha bridges the gap between learning and livelihood by equipping learners with market-relevant vocational skills, digital literacy, and entrepreneurship training. Designed specifically for adolescent girls and women (15+ years), Disha supports both first-time job seekers and women re-entering the workforce.

Kashvi Disha Aims To

  • Provide hands-on vocational training in sectors like tailoring, beauty and wellness, digital skills, agriculture, and retail.
  • Provide structured training in life skills such as decision-making, communication, and leadership.

  • Facilitate livelihood pathways through job placements, self-employment support, micro-enterprise setup, or advanced skilling linkages.
  • Collaborate with local industry partners, government schemes, and skilling missions to ensure alignment with real-world opportunities.
  • Foster economic self-reliance by enabling learners to generate sustainable income and contribute to their families and communities.

Theory of Change

Kashvi Disha is founded on the belief that:
“When women gain relevant vocational skills and access structured livelihood support, they not only increase their income and independence but also become role models and change agents within their communities.”

This is made possible through:

  • Skill-based training tailored to local demand and learner interest
  • Linkages with employers, markets, and government skilling platforms
  • Continuous mentoring and post-training support to ensure success and retention

  • Flexible models combining in-person, on-site, and blended formats to meet learner needs

Kashvi Disha Team – Linking Skills to Livelihoods

The Kashvi Disha team brings together vocational and livelihood experts who work closely with the women of Kashvi to chart out sustainable income-generating paths. Whether it is tailoring, digital skills, farm and non-farm enterprises, agriculture, animal husbandry, or self-employment, the team ensures that every training pathway is market relevant and linked to real opportunities. They also build partnerships with local industries, government schemes, and financial institutions to create practical livelihood bridges that women can access immediately and sustainably.

Case Stories

I had completed school years ago, but with no skills or job, I felt invisible. Kashvi Disha introduced me to vocational training and gave me the courage to start again.

Today, I run a small hotel and earn enough to support my family. For the first time, I feel proud to be financially independent.

After marriage, I thought my career dreams had ended. But Kashvi Disha’s digital skills course opened a door I didn’t know existed.

Now I work full time at Orient as a trainer and manage my home. This balance of purpose and income has brought real dignity into my life.
