About Us

Kashvi is a holistic learning and livelihood initiative that supports girls and women aged 15 and above who have stepped away from formal education. Through our two core programmes, Kashvi Manzil and Kashvi Disha, we create pathways that help learners rebuild their educational foundation, strengthen confidence, and move towards dignified income opportunities.
Kashvi Manzil focuses on bringing women back into learning through Basic Literacy, Life Skills, and structured academic support that enables them to complete Grade 10 and Grade 12 through the National Institute of Open Schooling. The programme is designed to meet women where they are, offering flexible, community-based learning spaces that nurture self-belief, decision-making, and personal agency.
Kashvi Disha extends this journey by connecting women to skill-building, vocational training, and livelihood options across farm, non-farm, and home-based sectors. Through practical training, exposure, and mentorship, women are supported to translate their learning into income, independence, and long-term economic stability.
Together, Manzil and Disha form a seamless continuum, from literacy to life skills, and from learning to livelihood. Kashvi’s approach strengthens both personal growth and economic participation, contributing to greater gender equity and community resilience.
Currently operational in Jharkhand, Jharkhand continues to face gendered disparities in both education and employment. According to the 2023–24 Jharkhand Economic Survey, female literacy stands at 70.6%, compared to earlier years when it was significantly lower, but still needs focussed attention. Meanwhile, IWWAGE (Initiative for What Works to Advance Women and Girls in the Economy) data shows that only 35.2% of women in Jharkhand actively participate in the workforce, highlighting persistent barriers like caregiving responsibilities and limited job access
By combining education support with life skills and direct livelihood linkages, Kashvi strengthens personal agency and unlocks real economic potential for women.

Our Vision
A future where every woman can realise her innate potential and lead a life of dignity, agency, and opportunity.

Our Mission
To empower women through opportunities that restore education, build life skills, and unlock vocational and livelihood pathways to opportunity, agency, and financial independence.
Our Journey
4 years of empowering women to rise with agency, reclaim their futures, and lead lives of purpose and confidence.
Founder’s Note

When we began this journey, it wasn’t with a five-year plan. It was with a visit. We had funded a small project for girls who had dropped out of school. But when we spent time with them, heard their stories and saw their determination, one thing became clear: they didn’t lack ability. They simply lacked opportunity. That moment stayed with us. We soon realised they weren’t alone. Across villages, towns, and cities, there are thousands of women and girls who are bright, capable, and full of potential but have been left behind because they didn’t have access to continue their education or build a secure future.
We started Kashvi with a simple but powerful belief: that every woman deserves the chance to begin again, with access to education, livelihood opportunities, and the agency to shape a future she can be proud of. Kashvi exists to give girls and women the opportunity to turn setbacks into comebacks.
Our vision grows every day, shaped by the steady commitment of our team and, most of all, by the strength and courage of the women who choose to enrol and show up every single day. The real credit belongs to them.
Through Kashvi Manzil (education and life skills), Kashvi Disha (livelihoods), and Kashvi Udaan (our digital program), we work to ensure that women return to learning and gain the tools, knowledge, and agency they need to support themselves, their families, and their communities.
We are proud to be a grassroots organisation, working in some of the most challenging districts in Jharkhand, listening to the communities we serve, learning constantly, and building from the ground up. Our team goes door to door, speaks with families, and supports each learner with empathy and care.
We’ve set an ambitious goal: to reach every district in Jharkhand within five years and to expand to other states where this work is equally needed. But this vision doesn’t belong to us. It belongs to the women who persist, who overcome, and who begin again. They are the true heroes of this story.
We believe that when a woman rises, she lifts her family, her community, and an entire generation with her.
We invite you to support our work and walk this journey with us.
Let’s turn more setbacks into comebacks.
Warmly,
